Josephine has degenerated into a trough of low pressure, the National Hurricane Center said.
NHC said in its 5 p.m. update, the remnants are moving toward the west-northwest.
The remnants are forecasted to recurve toward the northeast Tuesday and Tuesday night.
Josephine was the tenth named system of the season, the National Hurricane Center said.
This is the earliest in a hurricane season that a J-named storm has formed.
