Mostly cloudy and cool today.

Temperatures this morning will start in the 40s in most towns. You may glimpse the full moon if you're up early. Otherwise, cloudy skies will be the norm for most.

Any breaks in the clouds during the morning will tend to fill in during the midday and afternoon. Overall, skies will be mostly cloudy today with highs only in the 60s. Some of the clouds out in the Gulf are producing some rain. A quick shower or some stray raindrops are not out of the question this afternoon but since the air is very dry near the ground, any rainfall that does try to move in will be very light and should not be a big deal.

The clouds will stick around overnight. That will save us from starting Thursday too cold. Most will be in the 40s and low 50s Thursday morning.

We'll have to watch the radar carefully on Thursday. Models show a strong upper-level system rolling through the area during the first half of the day. Moisture levels will be low so rain is unlikely, but a few showers are possible along with the clouds during the first half of Thursday. Highs on Thursday will remain in the 60s.

Friday will be the brightest day of the next three. We'll see some sun, especially from the I-4 corridor and points north during the day. Dry air in the morning will begin to move out during the afternoon as the winds turn out of the south. This could also mean some late-day showers. Highs on Friday will reach the upper 60s and low 70s.

Saturday looks mild and humid. There will be a front approaching us from the NW during the afternoon. It's very possible that a few showers pop up out ahead of this front with more substantial showers more likely after dark. The front will be slowly moving through on Sunday and with it look for cloudy skies and sct'd rain for much of Sunday.

An early look at the MLK/Inauguration Day forecast shows cold weather across central Florida with lots of morning clouds. Highs on Monday are likely to stay in the 50s.

Have a great day!
