TAMPA, Fla. — The National Weather Service in Ruskin has issued a Flood Watch for all of Tampa Bay.

According to the NWS, an abundant amount of tropical moisture will continue to stream into central Florida central through the weekend and into early next week.

The Flood Watch is in effect until 8 p.m. on Sunday.

ABC Action Weather Meteorologist Shay Ryan says the moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will bring widespread showers, heavy rain and isolated thunderstorms the next several days.

Poor drainage and low-lying areas will be most prone to flooding.

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts.
