TAMPA, Fla. -- Preparation work continues in Tampa this week for the Selmon Extension project, a 1.9 mile toll lane on Gandy Boulevard. Drivers need to prepare for lane closures during the work day.

Beginning Monday, December 18, one lane on the southbound Selmon exit ramp to Dale Mabry will be closed for geotechnical work. Work will be daily from 9am to 5pm through Wednesday, December 20. Also, there may be intermittent temporary lane closures in both directions on Gandy Boulevard all week from 7am to 6pm to allow TECO to accurately locate utilities.

Drivers this week (Monday, December 18 through Friday, December 22) should also expect lane closures from 9pm to 6am along eastbound and westbound Gandy Blvd. between Westshore Blvd. and Bridge St. There will also be a lane closed on eastbound Gandy Blvd. just east of S. Church Ave and west of Dale Mabry Hwy. Workers will be preforming geotechnical work, installing barrier walls, and installing temporary striping and signing.

Gandy Park South and Al Palonia Park are both closed to the public for the duration of the Selmon Extension construction. The Gandy boat ramp will remain open.
