TAMPA, Fla. -- A Tampa Bay couple will host a new show on HGTV called 90 Day Dream Home.

The show airs nationwide on Saturday, April 27 at 10 p.m. ET.

"We're building brand new houses as fast or faster than they are flipping them," said Brian Kleinschmidt.

Brian Kleinschmidt and his wife, Mika, will take homeowners on tours of three or four homes to see what they like or do not like.

"We say OK, lets take all the elements that you do like in these houses, put them all together in one and build you exactly what you want and that's their dream home," Brian said.

Each one-hour episode covers construction of a new home from start to finish.

The couple said they are excited to showcase Tampa Bay.

"We love this city," Brian Kleinschmidt said. "This is our home. We're so excited to show it off to the world. I feel like Tampa is still just a secret, and it shouldn't be, so we're excited to share that secret with the country."

Brian Kleinschmidt used to flip homes when he lived in Nashville. He was successful until the recession hit.

"I did well for awhile," Brian Kleinschmidt said. "I got a little bit greedy and I did three homes at once. I did it probably at the worst time in U.S. history, and that was during the recession and I lost. I'm not even exaggerating, almost every penny I had and that little piece of life always felt like it defeated me.

"So this show, what we're doing now with real estate is kind of like my redemption. It just feels good to get that back."

The couple flipped homes in the Tampa Bay area but got tired of surprises.

"Once we started knocking down walls and pulling back floors, there are just a lot of unknowns you just can’t predict," said Mika McGee-Kleinschmidt.

About four years ago, the couple sold one of their three Anytime Fitness franchises and used the money to partner with local builders to construct new homes.

"We started to get into flipping then the new construction thing came and after probably 4 or 5 new constructions later the HGTV thing was born," said Brian Kleinschmidt.

The couple is thrilled for the show to air this weekend and cannot wait to help others move into their dream homes.

"We give them a brand new house with character and charm in 90 days or less, and that's kind of where the show was born," said Brian Kleinschmidt.
