TAMPA, Fla. — Jeff Attinella is a Major League Soccer goalkeeper for the Portland Timbers. He played at USF and is a die-hard Tampa Bay sports fan.
When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed quarterback Tom Brady in March, Attinella made a bold prediction.
“Yo, let this man live in the pirate ship,” Attinella said in a video on his Twitter page. “Tampa, bro, so many people are going to be locked in on the Bucs. We’re going to the Super Bowl!”

“That’s what Tom Brady does,” Attinella said. “I’ve followed his history, I’ve been reading books about him. When he announced he was going to Tampa, the pieces were in place. We had the receivers, the draft with Tristan Wirfs was massive for us on the offensive line.”
A fun fact about Attinella, he writes children’s books for his publishing company, "It Had To Be Told." Before Sunday’s big game, he wrote a tale for his beloved Buccaneers as they take on the Chiefs.
“But who stands in their way,” Attinella reads. “The greatest player of all-time. With Tom Brady comes an arsenal that is ready to shine.”
His Buccaneers-fandom is rubbing off on his fellow footballers, too.
“I think I started off annoying, but I’ve been slowly winning people over,” Attinella said. “I have teammates from Argentina, teammates from France sending me videos of them watching the Bucs back home, kinda spreading Bucs love around the world.”
