TAMPA, Fla. — Bucs quarterback Tom Brady was all smiles when he reported to the Bucs training camp Thursday morning.
The six-time Super Bowl champ arrived at the Advent Health Training Center and went straight to a COVID-19 testing trailer. Quarterbacks and rookies were scheduled to report on Thursday. The rest of the team is slated for July 28.
Players must pass consecutive COVID-19 tests before they'll be allowed into the team facility for a physical. On-field practice won't begin until early August.
There's still no concrete schedule or plan for the structure of the training camp.
The NFL Players' Association and the league have tentatively agreed to cancel preseason games and trim training camp rosters from 90 players to 80. Issues surrounding player "opt-outs" and a pay scale due to missed games are still being discussed.
