If you know someone who has been deemed an essential worker during the novel coronavirus pandemic, simply saying “thank you” might not seem like enough.
Whether they’re a nurse, doctor, cashier, delivery driver, restaurant worker, police officer or fire fighter, those still working are what is keeping us all going during this health crisis. While we can’t throw them all a party or take them to dinner right now, we can show our appreciation by sending them a little something to bring a smile to their face during this tough and surely exhausting time.
I don’t know about you but I think a free candy bar would be pretty nice as a token of appreciation.
The candy makers at Mars are looking to help those doing that tireless work by handing out free Snickers bars. If you know someone who is currently working the front lines of this pandemic, you can send them a free Snickers by simply filling out a short form online.
Just head to the special Snickers website and enter both your name and phone number and the recipient’s name and number. They’ll then receive a text message with a free Snickers e-gift card redeemable at Walmart. There is no rush for them to redeem the gift card — they can simply do so next time they’re at Walmart.
Of course, the giveaway is not endless, as there are 1 million Snickers bars being given away. The promotion will end either when that number runs out or on Aug. 31, which is the scheduled closing date.
You must be at least 16 years old to send the Snickers to someone and there is a limit of two per phone number. The free Snickers will come in the form of a $1 gift card redeemable at Walmart either online or in-store.
For every bar sent, Snickers says it will also make a donation to support first responders through Operation Gratitude.
Other giveaways that front line workers can take advantage of right now include pillows, Crocs and even a meal at McDonald’s.
