Tampa Bay area school districts hosting job fairs to hire teachers for upcoming school year

School districts in the Tampa Bay area are looking to hire teachers for the upcoming school year.

PINELLAS COUNTY SCHOOLS

Pinellas County Schools is hosting a job fair Saturday as we hope to rebound from coronavirus in the coming months.

The school system is looking to hire teachers for next school year, but you have to register for the job fair by noon.

"We have approximately 50 vacancies to fill at these schools for the 2020-2021 school year. The schools needing teachers are: Campbell Park, Melrose, Fairmount, John Hopkins, Azalea Middle, Maximo, Sandy Lane, Kings Highway, and Lealman Ave.," Isabel Mascaranas with the school district told ABC Action News.

Virtual interviews will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY SCHOOLS

Hillsborough County Schools is also hosting job fairs for the upcoming school year.

For those who want to learn more about becoming a teacher in the district, they are hosting several virtual informational sessions.

  • Tuesday, April 28, 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 30, 9 a.m. – noon
  • Tuesday, May 5, 1 – 3 p.m.

The meetings will all be virtual and candidates can sign up for the upcoming sessions here. A live chat feature is available on the page to answer candidates’ questions.

Representatives from the Office of Teacher Recruitment will be available to answer questions about the application process and more.
