HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. -- For the first time, the Hillsborough County School District will provide students with free meals over Winter Break, with Student Nutrition Services launching Winter Break Meal Bags.
Each bag contains 14 meals, which is enough food to serve breakfast and lunch for seven days for one child, according to the school district.
"This pandemic has created a financial hardship for many families," Superintendent Addision Davis said in a statement on social media. "As such, parents may be challenged with providing nutritious meals to their children while they are away from school during the holidays."
These free meals meet all USDA nutritional guidelines.
Parents and guardians can reserve a meal bag, one per child, by filling out this form.
Families who reserve a bag will be able to pick it up at the Silo Bend Distribution Center, located at 9036 Brittany Way, Tampa, FL 33619, between 12 pm and 7 pm on December 14th, 15th or 16th.

Supplies are limited, so reserving a bag is strongly encouraged, according to Davis.
There will be another opportunity for families, at one of 25 Grab and Go sites, from 10-11:30 a.m., on Thursday, December 17.
