TAMPA, Fla. — A recently launched app in the Tampa Bay area helps some residents get some much needed storage space while providing some additional income for homeowners.
It is called Neighbor.com.
Homeowners can list their space, whether it be a garage or attic, for some additional income.
In turn, people in the neighborhood can take them up on the offer to store their stuff.
We caught up with Kim Caliendo, a St. Petersburg resident, who is using the website for people to store an RV, boat or car.
"It helps supplement my income and everyone I've met has been super and really appreciative that they can store their stuff," explains Caliendo.
Neighbor.com says the spaces are typically cheaper than your traditional storage unit. Renters are also provided with a $25,000 insurance policy for the stored items.
