TAMPA, Fla. — Feeding Tampa Bay will get into the Halloween spirit this weekend at two Mega Pantries in St. Petersburg and Tampa.
While staffers and volunteers are loading up cars with groceries, staffers and volunteers in costume at each location will host kiddos to some candy and trick-or-treat fun.
"We've served nearly 60 million meals since Covid-19 began, and we know it's been daunting for those we serve," says the nonprofit's Shannon Hannon-Oliviero, showing off her Unicorn Queen costume. "So we'll do whatever we can to make them smile."
Feeding Tampa Bay is expanding services to keep up with an increasing number of families in need during the pandemic.
It now hosts 10 local Mega Pantry locations in five counties.
