MIAMI (WFTS) -- As Floridians experience the season's coldest temperatures this week, meteorologists are warning the public to keep an eye out for "falling iguanas."
Yes, iguanas can drop to the ground the same way as oranges fall from the Florida trees.
As folks living in South Florida are experiencing lows in the 40s this week, NWS Miami says iguanas begin to slow down or become immobile.
"They may fall from trees, but they are not dead," NWS Miami said on social media.
Here in the Tampa Bay area, folks are expected to wake up to temperatures in the 30s. Click here for the hour-by-hour forecast in our viewing area.
