Tropical Storm Gabrielle forms in eastern tropical Atlantic, no coastal watches/warnings issued

MIAMI, Fla. — As Hurricane Dorian kept Floridians on edge over the last several days, a new tropical storm has formed in the Atlantic.

Tropical Depression Eight formed in the eastern tropical Atlantic Tuesday and soon strengthened into Tropical Storm Gabrielle, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle has winds of up to 40 mph and is moving northwest at about 10 mph.

With no coastal watches or warnings, Tropical Storm Gabrielle should be no threat to the United States this week, let alone Florida.
