TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — For the first time, the Florida Department of Health released a report for COVID-19 cases in schools across the state.

For months, the public, including ABC Action News, have asked the state to release such data so families in Florida can know about possible COVID-19 outbreaks at their child's school.

A key takeaway from Tuesday's development is that cases from August are not included. Some charter schools that have not confirmed cases to ABC Action News when we asked are included in the state data.
