President Trump postpones trip to Poland as Hurricane Dorian bears down the United States

TAMPA, Fla. -- President Donald Trump has postponed his weekend trip to Poland as Hurricane Dorian bears down on the southeast United States.

The announcement comes minutes after Governor Ron DeSantis extended the state of emergency for all Florida counties.

President Trump was originally scheduled to be in Warsaw Saturday to attend the 80 anniversary of the start of World War II.

Hurricane Dorian is about 220 miles north-northwest of San Juan, Puerto Rico., according to the Hurricane Center's 11 a.m. update. Dorian continues to move away from Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands as it moves 13 mph northwest.

Dorian could make landfall on Florida's east coast Monday.
