RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. — Riviera Beach Police say that a neighbor heard two gunshots around midnight on Tuesday inside an apartment on Singer Island. That's where 26-year-old Holly Given and 27-year-old Travis Timilty lived.

The next day, Travis’s mom stopped by the apartment after she couldn’t get ahold of either of them. Travis didn’t show up for work, she says.

When she got to the door, she saw the couple’s German shepherd pacing back and forth near a bathroom, next to a pool of blood. She called police.

Police found their bodies around 3:30 p.m.

Police say Travis shot Holly before turning the gun on himself.

The young couple made their relationship "Facebook official" on October 20, according to Holly’s Facebook account.

Crystal Berrios lived next door to them.

“My heart bleeds for his mom. I have a child. I can’t even imagine walking into something like that. That’s got to be the most tragic thing a grieving mother could ever deal with,” she said. “It’s just really disheartening what’s going on. It’s two really young lives."

Travis’s mom, Lisa Martinez, said they met at work, and Holly moved in with him.

She says the two had known each other for over a year.

Riviera Beach police say they have no record of domestic violence calls between the couple and haven’t said what motivated this tragedy.

Travis’s parents say they are “heartbroken” and feel like they “are in a bad dream that they haven’t woken up from.”

Police say Holly’s parents don’t live locally but will be here Thursday.
