A Cape Coral man is accused of beating up his ex-girlfriend, and his mom is accused of joining in the fight.

Samuel Johnson, 26, and his mother, Judy Helmandollar, 55, were arrested on October 31st.

Cape Coral Police say the victim went to Johnson's house to confront him for sending nude photos of her to other people. His arrest report said Johnson started beating the girl in his bedroom, choking her, wrestling her to the ground, hitting her in the face, and breaking her glasses.

"You don't lay your hands on a woman, and that's the way people need to raise their kids," a neighbor who witnessed the incident said.

The police report says the fighting continued from the bedroom into the driveway when the victim tried to leave. It says Johnson's mother got involved in the fighting, punched the victim in the face, and grabbed her by the hair.

"I would probably rip my son off the girl and have my son arrested," the neighbor said.

This is Johnson's first arrest in Lee County, but not his mother's; Helmandollar has been arrested for possessing marijuana with intent to sell and probation violation in the past.

"I hope they keep him in jail! And the mom, too!' Veronica Graydon, a neighbor, said.
