After Gov. Ron DeSantis called for an end to Common Core in Florida classrooms in January, the state is working to find a replacement.
Now, there is a survey that parents and community members can take to help develop a new way for children to learn at school.

On Monday, the Florida Department of Education announced a new survey that enables you to provide feedback on each existing standard individually.
To take the survey just go to www.floridastandardsreview.org.
Before you take the survey, you have to create an account, which is free, and then select a test and grade. You can choose between Language Arts or Math and between kindergarten and 12th grade.
Floridians will still have the opportunity to submit general comments through the original survey link at www.fldoe.org/standardsreview.
“We have long decried the endless issues associated with Common Core, and we are taking action to eliminate every last shred of it from Florida’s academic standards. That’s why today we deployed this specific, detailed survey tool that we’ll use to make student-focused changes," said Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran in a statement.

In January, DeSantis issued Executive Order 19-32 to eliminate Common Core and pave the way for Florida students to receive a world-class education to prepare them for jobs of the future.
This mandate directs Commissioner Richard Corcoran to comprehensively review the academic standards for Florida’s kindergarten through grade twelve students and provide recommended revisions to the governor by Jan. 1, 2020.
Parents will have until the end of September 2019 to take this survey.
