MIAMI, Fla. — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis made a 'major announcement' regarding the Florida Supreme Court on Monday in Miami.
DeSantis nominated Judge Robert Luck as his second of three picks to fill a seat on the Florida Supreme Court. Luck is a judge on the 3rd District of Appeal in Miami.
DeSantis made the announcement at Scheck Hillel Community School in Miami.
Today, it is my distinct privilege to appoint Robert Luck to the Florida Supreme Court. Justice Luck is an outstanding jurist who will uphold our Constitution and the rule of law in our state.

On Friday, the governor made national headlines when he removed embattled Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel from his position after Israel faced backlash for his department's response to the Parkland shooting last year.
Last week, DeSantis also asked all South Florida Water Management District board members to resign their positions and he signed an executive order to implement major water reforms throughout the state. He also nominated the first of three Florida Supreme Court justices on Wednesday. He nominated Judge Barbara Lagoa during an announcement at the Freedom Tower in downtown Miami.
