A Florida Senate committee has approved a bill that will provide Florida residents with a sales-tax exemption for diapers, incontinence undergarments, incontinence pads, and incontinence liners.
The bill was co-sponsored by South Florida State Senator Lauren Book (D-Plantation) and Senator Travis Hutson (R-St. Augustine).

On January 7, 2019, the bill was approved by Commerce and Tourism with 5 YEAS and 0 NAYS.
It now moves to Finance and Tax where it will be filed for consideration during the legislative session that starts March 5, 2019. If the bill is passed, it would take effect in January 2020.
