A Florida teenager accused of strangling his mother after an argument over grades, pleaded guilty Wednesday, ABC affiliate WFTV reports.

Gregory Ramos agreed to serve 45 years, with a chance of parole in 25 years, and lifetime probation, the TV station said.

Authorities reportedly found Ramos' mother Gail Cleavenger buried under a fire pit at a church in November of 2018. Ramos was just 15 years old at the time.

According to WFTV, deputies said Ramos confessed to killing his mother by strangling her at the family’s home on Alicante Road in DeBary after the two fought over his grades.

They say he will be sentenced Jan. 22.
