LAUDERHILL, Fla. (AP) — Officials say a Florida man lost part of his hand in a July 4th fireworks accident.

Lauderhill Fire-Rescue posted on Twitter that the incident happened Wednesday night.
They said the injury resulted in a “partial amputation” of the man’s hand.
The man’s name or condition hasn’t been released.
No further details were immediately available.
Approximately 760 people go to the emergency room with fireworks-related injuries each 4th of July and 68% of all firework injuries take place within a month of July 4th, according to Wallethub. Each year, about 7 people die from firework-related incidents.
