A Florida lawmaker wants to cut taxes on diapers for families throughout the state.
Senator Lauren Book, D-Plantation, is trying to make the idea a reality after filing Senate Bill 60 on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. The bill proposes a tax exemption for diapers and incontinence products. It would include "human use of diapers, incontinence undergarments, incontinence pads, and incontinence liners."
If passed, the tax exemption would go into effect on January 1, 2020.
A similar bill was introduced last year by Book, Passidomo, PerryandStewart, but it was withdrawn from consideration on March 10, 2018.
The 2019 legislative session starts in March in Florida.
