DEO extends waiver for work search requirements for Floridians applying for unemployment benefits

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) has once again extended its waiver for online work registration and work search requirements.

Originally set to expire on Saturday, May 30, DEO had extended the waiver multiple times, with the latest extension now in effect through Saturday, December 5.

The waiting week requirement will continue to be waived through December 5, DEO said.

As of September 3, DEO has paid off more than 1.94 million claimants for a total of more than $14.8 billion, according to the state.
