The best spellers in the Tampa Bay area duked it out in the Central Florida Spelling Bee Friday morning.
ABC Action News partnered with the city and Polk County Tourism and Sports Marketing to bring you the Central Florida Spelling Bee at the Lake Eva Event Center in Polk County…one of the largest in the state!

Spelling Bee winners from over 40 local schools dazzled the judges with their spelling skills.
The winner on Friday was Dev Shah from Ridgecrest Elementary School.
Shah will receive an invitation to the national Scripps Spelling Bee in Washington D.C.
ABC Action News' very own Sean Daly hosted the event featuring students from 1st to 8th grade who won the bee at their respective school.
The winner at this competition last year ended up finishing in the top 50 at the national Bee.
