Strategic Property Partners is ready to move forward on its Water Street Tampa project with several award-winning architectural and design firms. Water Street Tampa is a downtown revitalization project. Its funding includes over three billion dollars of private investment for over nine million square feet of downtown Tampa.
The team of architects include a combination of firms housed in Florida in addition to firms with a global brand. The Florida-based architect firms include Tampa’s Baker Barrios Architects and Gensler. A third firm, Nichols Brosch Wurst Wolfe & Associates (NBWW) is based in Coral Gables, Florida.
Baker Barrios will contribute one building, with a central cooling facility and infrastructure. Gensler will build two office over retail buildings while NBWW a 500-key four star hotel.
Another Tampa-based architect firm, HOK, will design the University of South Florida’s Morsani College of Medicine and Health Heart Institute. Construction for the new college will begin this fall.
The idea behind Water Street Tampa is to “seamlessly blend together the best places to live, work, and play all along the burgeoning Tampa waterfront.”
Strategic Property Partners is a real estate firm created by Tampa Bay Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and Cascade Investment.
