TAMPA, Fla. — Launched by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday exists to support local retailers that make communities strong.
The local shopping day gained nationwide attention in 2011 when the Senate passed a resolution in support of the day. Now, officials in all 50 states participate, according to American Express.

Here in Tampa, numerous local retailers are celebrating the day with deals.
