Pedestrian dies after being struck by mirror of vehicle in Tampa

TAMPA, Fla. — A pedestrian has died after being struck by the mirror of a vehicle on Friday night in Tampa.

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene near US-301 and Sabal Industrial Boulevard around 8:10 p.m. Troopers say 21-year-old Justin Larry was driving a Ford E350 down US-301 when the outside mirror of his vehicle struck a pedestrian, who was walking on the outside shoulder of the road. 

The 52-year-old female pedestrian was transported to an area hospital where she died from her injuries. Her name has not been released at this time pending family notification. 

FHP says that charges are pending.
