TAMPA, Fla. — A vehicle striking an electrical pole has caused N. Florida Avenue to close on Thursday morning in downtown Tampa.
Around 11:35 p.m. Wednesday night, Tampa Police Department officers responded to a traffic crash at the intersection of N. Florida Avenue and E. Fortune Street. A vehicle traveling northbound on N. Florida Avenue struck an electrical pole resulting in downed power lines and a limited power outage.
N. Florida Avenue between E. Harrison Street and E. Scott. Street are currently closed as TECO works to repair the downed power lines.

Drivers are asked to find alternative routes for their morning commute to avoid any traffic congestion caused by the road closure.

The road is expected to be closed until approximately 9:00 a.m.
There were no reported injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
