Islamic Society of Tampa Bay offers to host migrant children, pay for transportation costs

TAMPA, Fla. — The Islamic Society of Tampa Bay Area is offering to host migrant children currently separated from their parents — and the offer includes all transportation costs. 

The group announced the offer at a news conference on Tuesday at noon.

 

 

 

"This immoral policy of taking babies from their parent and locking them up must stop, the Muslim community is ready to do its part by hosting these children in loving and safe homes until they are reunified with their parents," said Ahmed Bedier, president of United Voices for America.

Children allege grave abuse at migrant detention facilities

The group says the humanitarian program will host all 2,300 children currently separated by President Trump’s border policy until they a reunified with their parents.
