Hillsborough County Deputies arrested a CVS pharmacist on DUI and felony drug charges.
Deputies say 58-year-old Brigitte Arnold was driving 25 mph on I-75, a 70 mph zone.
According to deputies, Arnold had 150 pills including Xanax, muscle relaxers and pain killers in her car. The arrest report says she did not have a prescription for any of the medication.
A family member of Arnold's claims she has prescriptions for all of the medication. Arnold and her attorney never returned our messages.
A CVS employee told us that Arnold is a "floater" pharmacist who works at several locations when needed.
We asked the CVS corporate office if Arnold could have stolen the pills from a pharmacy or customer prescriptions. They sent us the following statement:
"We have learned about this incident today and started an investigation. While we look into this matter, the pharmacist is being suspended from her job. Her alleged activities do not reflect our company’s values or the integrity of the vast majority of our pharmacy teams."
The Florida Department of Health is also aware of the allegations. If convicted, she could be fined or have her pharmacy license suspended or revoked.
