ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The weeklong Shine Mural Festival in downtown St. Petersburg is in full vibrant swing.

Twelve bold new pieces are currently in progress and you are invited to watch the artists work.

Nneka Jones is one of the featured talents at this year's event. She also happens to be one of the hottest new artists in the world.

"This has been a crazy time, a good kind of crazy," Jones says smiling.

ABC Action News interviewed Jones just a few months ago after she landed her thought-provoking work on the cover of Time magazine.

The University of Tampa graduate is now painting a mural with fellow artist Bianca Burrows that features Mother Nature and a colorful warning against overfishing.

The best way to enjoy the hundreds of other murals all over St. Petersburg is with the free PixelStix app. There is a self-guided tour in the app, plus bonus goodies to enhance your artistic adventure.
