ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- ABC Action News works with local shelters to find homes for pets through our weekly Pet of the Week segment.
This week we are featuring Trixie, a 6-month-old Hound mix.
Shelter workers say she is full of puppy energy and would love a backyard where she can run around.
Trixie would make a great dog for a family with older kids. Her size and energy level could be too much for toddlers.
According to the American Kennel Club, hounds were traditionally used for their hunting skills, a trait they keep to this day as they love chasing small wildlife like squirrels or rabbits.
Trixie is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $200.
For more information about how to adopt Trixie or other adoptable animals at Pet Pal Animal Shelter, you can call them (727) 328-7738 or go online to www.petpalanimalshelter.com.
