ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- ABC Action News works with local shelters to find homes for pets through our weekly Pet of the Week feature.
This week we are featuring Maverick. He is a 1-year-old Hound mix up for adoption from Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St. Petersburg.
Hounds were traditionally used for their hunting skills, a trait they keep to this day as they love chasing small wildlife like squirrels or rabbits. While they come in various shapes and sizes, most hounds make excellent family pets.
Shelter workers report Maverick loves racing around the yard at top speed. He is an adorable dog who is full of puppy playfullness and always ready to give kisses.
Maverick is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. His adoption fee is $200.
