That’s what investigators are still trying to piece together. Deputies were called to the scene around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday. They found 30-year-old Jerome Miller in the driver's side of the vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
EMS and fire officials started life saving efforts, but Miller later died at an area hospital.
"What did he do so bad that they had to murder my son?" his mother, Denise Miller said.
Detectives are working to determine when and where multiple shots were fired at the vehicle. They say they do believe this is an isolated incident that may have been drug-related.
"One thing I do know, this has gotta stop. It’s going too far. Everybody’s shooting. Everybody’s got a gun. Little kids have guns," said Denise Miller.
Denise Miller says her son Jerome wasn’t perfect, but he was a father and husband and didn’t deserve this.
"He's going to be missed forever," said Denise
