SARASOTA, Fla. -- Two neighboring banks on Fruitville Road in Sarasota were burglarized within minutes apart overnight, officials said.
Sarasota County sheriff's deputies responded to an alarm call at the PNC Bank at 5520 Fruitville Road shortly before 5 a.m. Saturday, a Sarasota County Sheriff's Office news release said.
When they arrived, the deputies took one person into custody. No further information was released about that person.
At 5:01 a.m. Saturday, deputies were sent to check out an alarm call at the Bank of America across the street at 5457 Fruitville Road.
At this time it is unknown whether the burglary calls were related, the release said.
Members of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigations Section were called to the scene to investigate.
