SARASOTA, Fla. — Sarasota County School leaders are considering three different options for reopening schools at a special board meeting on Thursday, July 2.
The first option for families is traditional, in-person classes. There will be daily attendance taken and students will be back in the building.
The second option is learning remotely from your districted school. Students are scheduled in their remote classes, learning from their assigned teacher at their assigned school.
If parents choose Option 2, students must stick with that for at least the first semester of classes.
The third option is Sarasota Virtual, where students are learning independently all the time. There is no daily attendance taken, but teachers will check in with students on assignments. Students can be removed for lack of progress. Families are encouraged to stick with this option once they choose it.
