SARASOTA, Fla. — The Sarasota County School Board has decided to push back the 2020-2021 reopening date.
The school district's first day of in-person learning has moved from the original date of August 10 to August 31.
All students and school staff must wear a mask when they return to campus.
The school board is sending the plan to reopen campuses and have in-person learning to the state for approval.
Families will have two options for how they'd like their kids to approach the 2020-2021 school year: in-person learning or full-time e-learning. Parents have until Monday, July 20 to enroll students full-time in Sarasota Virtual School.
