SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County (DOH-Sarasota) has lifted the red tide health advisory after elevated levels of red tide were detected on beaches in the area.
On Wednesday, October 19, DOH-Sarasota issued a health advisory after elevated red tide levels were detected. DOH-Sarasota received testing results on Wednesday, October 26 showing zero cells for red tide were present.
The DOH-Sarasota said the beach advisory signs have been changed at all beaches except for North Jetty due to a temporary road closure associated with Hurricane Ian clean up. The signs on North Jetty will be changed as soon as the area becomes accessible.
