North Port utility crews fixed a major water main that broke early Saturday morning.
The break caused a disruption of service to the Island Walk and Gran Paradiso communities. Around 1720 homes were impacted, according to City of North Port officials.
Water service was resumed around 4 p.m.
Officials advise that all water used for consumption should be brought to a rolling boil for three minutes. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
Affected residents will need to continue boiling water for consumption until a “Rescission of the Boil Water Notice” has been publicly posted, letting you know that the advisory has been lifted. Updates will be posted to www.CityofNorthPort.com as they become available.
