SARASOTA, Fla. — A Manatee County man in his 60s tested positive for coronavirus and is being treated at Doctor’s Hospital of Sarasota.
On Sunday, staff at the hospital received an email notifying them about the patient.

According the the Florida Department of Health, it is unclear how the man got the virus. They said he had not traveled to any areas where the virus was prevalent.
U.S. Congressman Vern Buchanan canceled his trip to Washington D.C. after learning about the patient Sunday night. Buchanan met with the hospital’s CEO on Monday and says he's confident the hospital is handling this the right way.

"I know they’re not performing surgeries right now, but the bottom line, I think they will in the near future," said Buchanan.
The Doctor's Hospital of Sarasota refused to give any kind of statement.
