MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — Manatee County deputies are investigating after human remains were discovered in a field on Wednesday.
According to the sheriff's office, at approximately 12:55 a resident was walking through a brushy field collecting shrubbery when he discovered what he believed to be human remains. The remains were found near 16th Avenue East and 61st Street East in Palmetto.
Detectives confirmed the remains are in fact human. It is not known if the remains are male or female, or how they got there, deputies say.
