PALMETTO, Fla. — A 28-year-old man is dead after he was shot while playing video games with a group of people on Friday night, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.
Benjamin Lang, 31, allegedly shot and killed Benny Williams over an unknown dispute while playing video games. Authorities say the shooting happened around 10 p.m.
The two men were at a gathering of 6 or 7 people when the shooting took place, authorities say. Witnesses tell authorities Lang fired multiple times then ran away from the scene.
Lang turned himself in around 10:30 p.m. Saturday night after a warrant for murder was issued.
Authorities say first reponders arrived on the scene and performed life saving measures before taking the Williams to the hospital, where he later died.
