MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — A brand new program in Manatee County hopes to get more people back to work while helping out area HVAC businesses.
CareerEdge is now offering free HVAC technician training.
The program will begin in January and run through March and tuition will be free. Classes will be held Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at MTC's Main Campus in Bradenton.
Funding for the program is though the Eppard Family Foundation and local HVAC companies.
“One of the biggest challenges in the Construction Trades sector is not only the tight labor market but also finding candidates that are eager to learn. This program will give individuals solid foundational skills and an opportunity to grow and expand in this field, which has lots of upward mobility for motivated workers,” says Mireya Eavey, CareerEdge Chief Workforce Officer.
Graduates will be guaranteed jobs with the participating employers with a starting pay of $15 per hour.
No technical experience is required but you do need to apply.
