PARRISH, Fla. — A Parrish Girl Scout mom said she is on the hook for about $4,300 in girl scout cookie money.
“I had all the money from the sales in an envelope on the table, but one of my girls left the back door unlocked,” said Lindsay Denzer.
She said the money was stolen from her home in mid-March. A Manatee County deputy took a report of the incident. Denzer believes she was targeted.
“Surprisingly I’m not the first cookie mom to have her house broken into and have cookie money stolen,” said Denzer.
The Girl Scout organization is still expecting to get the money back according to Denzer. She has already paid a portion back, but she still owes thousands.
“They are holding me personally liable for the money stolen and I would like to be able to help as much as I can,” said Denzer.
Manatee County deputies are investigating.
