BRADENTON, Fla. — Tom Yorke is planning a funeral for his 98-year-old mother-in-law Thelma Moore.

“She was a delight everybody loved her, not critical of anything very happy,” said Yorke.

He knew his mother-in-law was elderly, but he never thought she would pass away the way she did. On Monday, Tom was taking his mother-in-law home from the hospital. He said she was in good spirits.

"She was happy, lipstick on, glad to be going home instead of a nursing home,” said Yorke.

The family was pulling onto Lakewood Ranch Blvd. in Bradenton when the car they were in was hit head on by a wrong way driver. Troopers said Tara Berbit was driving the wrong way. Berbit is still in the hospital recovering from the crash. Troopers are still investigating why she was driving the wrong way.

“We will learn one day what the story was with that person, but I’m not focused on that,” said Yorke.

Yorke said he’s focused on preserving his mother-in-law's memory.

“She was very pleasant to be around, we had dinner together every night,” said Yorke.
