ANNA MARIA ISLAND, Fla.— A Tampa Bay family captured some wild video of a hammerhead shark while boating in the Gulf of Mexico during the Memorial Day weekend.
Corinne Lough was boating near Bean Point, near the top of Anna Maria Island, when she captured the video around Noon on Monday.
“We were just about to jump in for a swim,” Lough told ABC Action News.
Lough estimates they were about 300 feet from shore when the hammerhead swam by their boat.
Lough told ABC Action News she first thought it might be a dolphin, then realized it was a shark.
“It was a very cool experience, she added.
