PARRISH, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash in Manatee County that left three people dead Monday afternoon.
FHP said the crash, which occurred on County Road 675 in Parrish, involved a dump truck and an SUV.
FHP said the dump truck was traveling west on CR-675 and entering a curve in the road. The SUV was traveling east on CR-675 when the truck drifted onto the north shoulder. The driver of the truck tried to overcorrect and crossed the roadway in front of the SUV.
FHP said driver 2 swerved right in an attempt to avoid collision but the front of the dump truck collided with the front of the SUV.
According to FHP, the driver and two passengers from the SUV were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the dump truck was transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital and treated for his injuries.
