MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in their search for a driver who hit and killed a 15-year-old early Wednesday morning.

FHP said a 15-year-old, identified as Thomas Jaren Croumbley, was skateboarding on Upper Manatee River Road when a truck hit them.

Troopers said they are searching for a Toyota Tacoma that has extensive front end damage. They believe the truck was made between 2012 and 2015.

The hit-and-run accident caused the Fort Hamer Bridge to be shut down for several hours, it has since reopened.
